Rhonda Tilley, CPA, MBA

For 20 years, I have operated a small accounting business in addition to holding full time management level positions on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I thoroughly enjoy helping small businesses and non-profits with their day to day financial records and internal business processes.

Government/State University accounting has been my full-time employment for the past 17 years. As the primary audit contract on the campus for many years, my level of knowledge in internal controls and business processes has grown greatly. In addition, my accounting career began in public accounting working with many different types of business organizations doing compilations, financial statements and audits.

When I left public accounting, I was able to begin my own business assisting others in their accounting needs. My clientele over the years has ranged anywhere from non-profit organizations, such as Breast Cancer Awareness groups and Neighborhood Housing Associations, to Condo Associations and HOA’s, to small businesses such as plumbing and construction businesses.

I have contracted to do many different services with each one – from monthly Quickbooks entries, to weekly bookkeeping, to board financial reporting, to consulting in various areas. I have worked with several businesses monitoring federal, state and local grants and ensuring accurate spending within those parameters.

Recently, I relocated back to my home town of Calvert County after 29 years. I currently am an Assistant Professor in Accounting at the College of Southern Maryland on the LaPlata Campus. I have very flexible hours with this position, so that enables me to grow my accounting and consulting services business greatly. Since I travel all three counties several days a week, I am able to expand my servicing area to all of Southern Maryland.
